Sunday 21 May we will be combining some good back roads between Walloon and Gatton with the fabulous Ma Ma Creek Rd up onto the main Range, and a run north on the New England Hwy for coffee at a café in Toowoomba.  The run to lunch will continue north on the New England Hwy and then down the brilliant Hampton Esk Rd for lunch at Nash Gallery and Café in Esk.

Meet up 8am for a 8:30 start in the wallooning capital of the world, Walloon, at Henry Lawson Bicentennial Park, Karrabin-Rosewood Rd.  The park is about 200 m west of the roundabout in town.

The route

The run will combine two of my favourite roads into the one outing.

We will be taking good quality back roads (to avoid the Warrego) to Gatton, and then from there up to the Great Dividing Range via the marvellous Ma Ma Creek Rd.  Once we have met the new England Highway we will drive on into Toowoomba for coffee and cake at a café in town (two cafes are being considered depending on numbers showing interest).

After morning tea we’ll be continuing north on the New England to Hampton and then on to Esk for lunch via the awesome Hampton-Esk Rd.  Lunch will be taken at the lovely Nash Gallery and Café.

Home via Brisbane Valley and Warrego Hwys.

Absolutely essential so I can reserve places at the cafe and Nash Gallery and Cafe.  If you don’t book ahead I can’t guarantee places for you.

Deadline: Email by lunchtime Tuesday 16 May at the latest please so I can book venue places.
